1. How does the surfboard rental process work?
You choose a board online, select your rental period, and pick it up. Return it within your designated slot (unless by prior arrangement) — it's that easy!
2. Do I need to book in advance?
Booking in advance is recommended to secure your preferred board, but same-day may be available. Check the availability of the board you want on our booking system.
3. Where do I pick up and return the board?
You can pick up and drop off at our location in New Plymouth, 26 Victoria Road New Plymouth Central, 4310. With some advance notice we can deliver within New Plymouth for free.
Rental Details
4. What do I need to bring when renting a board?
A valid ID and a credit/debit card for payment and security deposit. If paying by cash then an extra $100 to be held as a bond.
5. How long can I rent a board for?
We offer 4 hr, daily, and multi-day rentals.
6. Can I swap my board during the rental period?
Yes! If you’re not happy with the board, you can swap it for a different one (subject to availability). Or if you want to hire a quiver to really test things out, we offer a multi board discount.
Damage, Loss & Cancellations
7. What if I damage the board?
Minor dings are expected, but if there’s significant damage, repair costs may apply. Check our rental agreement for details.
8. What happens if I lose the board or it gets stolen?
You’re responsible for the board during your rental. If lost or stolen, you may be charged the replacement cost.
9. What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellations up to 24 hours before your rental. Same-day cancellations may incur a fee.
Other Services
10. Do you rent wetsuits and other gear?
Not at this stage.
11. Can I buy the board if I like it?
Absolutely! If you fall in love with your rental, we'll even take your rental cost off the price of the board.
12. Do you offer lessons or guided surf sessions?
We don’t provide lessons, but we can recommend local instructors.
